Embrapa Cotton
Embrapa Algodão - Campina Grande/PB
Research center for the development of cotton, sisal, peanut, sesame seed and castor oil tree cultures. The multidisciplinary team of 41 researchers has developed non-irrigated and irrigated agriculture systems of production and introduced 15 cotton, 2 sesame seed and one peanut cultivar.
They have also defined different configurations of planting in cultivation consortiums, developed irrigation techniques and integrated pest management. The center is responsible for the introduction of equipment such as the portable pesticide spray pulverizer and the peanut peeler.
