Its team of 32 researchers strives for alternatives to reconciliate the need to promote economic development of the ecosystems and the agro-industrial complex in Acre, with environmental conservation in mind. They have also developed a methodology for the sustainable resettlement program in the Amazon region.
The center is equipped with an infrastructure, which includes a 1.200 hectares experimental station; laboratories for soil chemistry and physics, phytopatology, entomology, seeds, agroforestal technological products and bromatology. It also work in collaboration with universities, associations and cooperatives, other scientific and environmental institutions in Brazil and overseas.
