Embrapa Meio-Norte - Teresina/PI
Located in Terezina, in the state of Piaui, this research center has participated in the opening of new areas for cultivation and the sustainable development of agro-silvipastoral activities in the Cerrado regions of Piaui and Maranhao, one of the most recent agricultural frontiers of Brazil.
A national reference center for cowpea bean research, its team of 32 researchers has also introduced into the region numerous varieties of soybeans rice, beans and corn. It also undertakes research in cattle, sheep and goat farming, maintaining a nucleus for the preservation of endangered species.
