Embrapa Food Technology
Embrapa Agroindústria de Alimentos - Rio de Janeiro/RJ
Research center involved in the technological development of the food industry, implementation of new processes, products and equipment. Its team of 48 researchers can count on an infrastructure which includes a semi-industrial mill and quality control laboratories.
One of its achievements is the creation of alternatives for soybean processes, the development of products for thermo-plastic extrusion, the identification of the grade and quality of essential oils of native plants, the development of small machinery for family agriculture and the optimization in the use of enzymes for the extraction of avocado and soy oil. One of its actual priorities is the reduction of losses in the post-harvest phase of fruits and vegetables.
