Embrapa's statute, as approved by Decree 7,766, of June 25, 2012, has instituted a Supervisory Board consisting of three sitting members. It is a higher administration body and its attributions include:

a) monitor Embrapa's asset, financial, and budget expenditure, with powers to inspect books or any other documents and request information;

b) oversee the actions of managers and verify their compliance with their legal and statutory duties;

c) monthly analyze the balance sheet and other financial statements prepared by the Corporation;

d) give an opinion on the annual administrative report  and on proposals to change the social capital.
