From 2008 to 2010, Dr. Janice developed postdoctoral studies in the National animal disease center-ARS-USDA. Research and Development director: Dr. Airton Kunz is graduated in industrial chemistry and master in environmental chemistry by the Campinas State University, SP, Brazil. Dr. Airton took his postdoctoral studies in the Coastal Plain Soil, Water, and Plant Research Center at Texas A&M University. His field of expertise focuses on agricultural engineering with emphasis on waste treatment including exploration of residues value. Research field involves animal wastewater treatment, anaerobic biodigestion, and nutrient removal.

Technology Transfer director: Dr. Marcelo Miele is graduated in Economy by the Rio Grande do Sul Federal University, Brazil, master in Business by the São Paulo University, Brazil, and Ph.D. in Agribusiness by the Rio Grande do Sul Federal University, Brazil. The Embrapa Swine and Poultry Technology Transfer director has experience in conjuncture analyses in the swine and poultry agribusiness, projects and technologies feasibilities as well as evaluation of impact technologies.
